Happy Independence Day!
The 4th of July fell on a Wednesday this year, which made it kind of awkward for the usual party times, but we had a GREAT day! We had a cook-out with Steve, Patti, Trish, Val, Andy, Barb, Bill, Ellie, Judy, Dick, Eli, Luke, John and William. In 100+ temps again, the kids had fun on the slip and slide, sprinkler and kiddie pool while the grown-ups stayed in the shade and air conditioning as much as possible. The weather has also been drought-like in addition to the heat - no rain in some areas around us in more than 1 month - so we also have many statewide burn bans and many communities imposed fireworks ban. We were able to sneak some in safely - thanks, Andy!!
