Dedication at Church

Today was a special day for the Manship's! Eli was a part of the baby dedication ceremony at church. (We attend Park Chapel Christian Church.) The baby dedication is really a celebration for the whole family in which we, as Eli's parents, make commitments about how we will raise, care for and love him - and recognize that he is truly a gift from God. Each family repeated and signed the same covenant and prayed together with prayer partners. Through the ceremony, we recognized and rejoiced that God gave us Eli and we made the covenant to:

• always recognize that our relationship with Eli is a sacred trust which requires investment of quality time and unconditional love


• assume the primary responsibility to teach Eli the spritual truths of scripture


• pray consistently for Eli's physical, spiritual and emotional well being


• create an environment within our home and through our actions that demonstrates to Eli the fruits of the spirit of Christ (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control)
